A pouch is a pouch, isn’t it ?

Not quite.

Of all the things we carry, a pouch is perhaps the most personal. Unlike a tote bag that everyone sees, a pouch lives a quieter life. It sits inside your bag, holding the things you reach for when no one is looking.

Your favourite lipstick.  An old makeup brush that should probably have been replaced years ago, but still works perfectly. 

A strip of medicines.

Hair ties. Safety pins. Earphones.

Receipts you forgot to throw away.

A toffee wrapper that somehow survived three bag clean-outs.

A collection of habits, routines, memories, and necessities that belong to no one else but you. That is why we don't think a pouch is "just a pouch." If an object is going to hold the small things that travel through your life every day, perhaps it deserves to be made with a little more thought, a little more care, and a little more character. Perhaps it deserves to be made slowly.

Every flower on this pouch is embroidered entirely by hand. Each stitch is placed individually by an artisan, one movement at a time.

There are faster ways to make a flower. There are cheaper ways too. But hand embroidery is not just about decoration. It is an act of attention. We believe that attention becomes part of the object itself. We believe that care becomes part of the object itself. And perhaps that is what makes us hold on to certain things for years.

After all, a pouch is never just a pouch. It is a small part of someone's everyday life.
