Thoughtfulness Travels: How Japan’s Mindful Gifting Inspires TREY’s Furoshiki Wraps

India has long been a home for people from many cultures, and among them is a growing Japanese community — especially in Bengaluru and Chennai. I was recently reminded of this when I met the KCCS Services team at a GOPIO meet. Our conversation stayed with me. It made me reflect on how beautifully the Japanese diaspora has blended into India, bringing with them a way of living rooted in grace, simplicity, and intention.

This philosophy is inspiring people across the world to embrace sustainable, mindful gifting — choosing items made with care, selecting materials that last, and valuing not just what we gift, but how we gift it.

We see this shift happening in India too.
So at TREY, we created block-printed furoshiki wraps — a celebration of thoughtful gifting, lovingly handcrafted by our all-women team.

Our furoshiki can be reused again and again: as elegant gift wraps, bandanas, small tablecloths, tissue-box covers, and more.

Where Thoughtfulness Travels Next

For the Japanese diaspora in India, our furoshiki wraps offer a touch of home.
For Indians, they offer a beautiful introduction to a globally admired tradition.
For TREY, they represent the perfect balance of culture, craft, and consciousness.

Each wrap is a reminder that the gift isn’t just what’s inside — it’s also how we give.
